Test Details: HLA-specific antibodies has a role in determining the survival of transplant allografts. Presence of IgG may cause hyperacute, acute, chronic antibody mediated rejection for Multi-Organ and may cause delayed engraftment. A pre-transplant DSA helps to detect between pre-existing anti-DSA from those antibodies that develop post-transplant. This test also helps to monitor patients after transplant for the presence and increase in level of antibodies in response to the donor's HLA antigens. Testing of Panel reactive antibodies play an important role in patients waiting for cadaveric transplants.
