Test Details: Liquid-based cytology is a technique that enables cells to be suspended in a liquid medium and spread in monolayer for better morphological assessment. Pap test LBC are usually indicated if there is any clinical suspicion of cancer cervix or of infection of the cervix or vagina. Indications for performing this test are : Females more than 21 years old (every 3 yearly), sexually active, chronic smoker, already been diagnosed with cancer or precancerous condition,etc. Clinical signs and symptoms include bleeding between periods, bleeding after sexual intercourse, discomfort during sex, discharge from vagina and pelvic pain.
