I0004
IDH 1&2Â Sequencing
Test Details: Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 and Isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH 1 and IDH 2) are the isoforms of enzyme IDH. These are nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) – dependent IDH that catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to produce alpha-ketoglutarate in normal cell metabolism. Mutation in IDH 1 and IDH 2 is mutually exclusive. IDH 1 and IDH 2 mutation is an early event in the development of certain tumors impairing normal enzyme activity, which result in loss of the ability to catalyse conversion of isocitrate to alpha-ketoglutarate. This test is used for diagnosis and prognosis of glioma.
