Aneuploidy by QF PCR [with MCC]
Test Details: The occurrence of one or more extra or missing chromosomes leading to an unbalanced chromosome complement, or any chromosome number is known as Aneuploidy. Aneuploidies are associated with genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome, Patau Syndrome. QF-PCR is based on the amplification of chromosome-specific DNA sequences (STR, short tandem repeats) that are polymorphic in length. This test bypasses the need to culture fetal cells thereby allowing rapid diagnosis of selected chromosomal anomalies. QF-PCR assay helps in simultaneous detection of aneuploidy and possible Maternal Cell Contamination (MCC) in fetus
