Test Details: Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) is an autosomal dominant ataxia which is a progressive, degenerative genetic disease with multiple types. SCA12 is caused by a CAG repeat expansion in a promoter region of the PPP2R2B on chromosome 5q32. The distinguishing feature of SCA12 is early and prominent action tremor with variability in other signs.
