Bacterial identification by 16s rRNA gene Sequencing
Test Details: Bacterial 16S rDNA sequencing is a genotypic test used as an adjunct to the phenotypic characteristics of an unknown bacterial isolate in order to determine the genus and species of the isolate. Genotypic tests are useful in the identification of unusual and new emerging pathogens. This test involves PCR followed by Sanger sequencing of amplified products.
