Test Details: This test is used for evaluation of patients with a pathological accumulation of Amylase in fluid to determine whether the contributing cause is pancreatic inflammation, pancreatic fistula or esophageal rupture . In pleural fluid examination , amylase-rich pleural effusions might be commonly associated with pancreatitis, esophageal rupture, malignancy, pneumonia and liver cirrhosis.
