Test Details: This test is used for the diagnosis and treatment of acid-base imbalance in disorders of respiratory and metabolic systems. Together with pH determination, bicarbonate measurements are used in the diagnosis and treatment of numerous potentially serious disorders. Some of these conditions are diarrhoea, renal tubular acidosis, hyperkalemic acidosis, renal failure and ketoacidosis.
