Test Details: Amenorrhoea profile is a panel of tests that are performed to evaluate the cause of amenorrhoea. Amenorrhoea are of two types: primary or secondary. Primary amenorrhoea is defined as when a female does not get her menstrual cycles by the age of 16. It can be due to underdeveloped reproductive organs, problem with secretion of hormones by pituitary gland or hypothalamus, failure of ovary. Cause of secondary amenorrhoea are breast feeding, pregnancy, menopause, depression, stress, malnutrition, extreme weight loss or gain, ongoing illness, etc.
