Test Details: Panel of tests used to diagnose anemia in an individual. Based on the initial findings in complete blood count a macrocytic or microcytic anemia can be diagnosed. Macrocytic anemia can occur due to deficiency of vitamin B12 deficiency, folate deficiency and some other causes . Microcytic anemia can occur due to varied causes. Most common cause is nutritional i.e. due to iron deficiency. Symptoms of anemia include fatigue, dizziness, headache, shortness of breath, difficulty in concentration, pale skin, leg cramps, insomnia, dementia, numbness, tingling, smooth red tongue, etc.
