Phospholipid IgM Antibodies
Test Details: Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by thrombosis and/or specific pregnancy-related death. Based on various studies and classification criteria, the laboratory requirements for diagnosing APS include the presence of at least one of the following: lupus anticoagulant (LAC), anticardiolipin (aCL) and anti-beta2 glycoprotein 1 (anti-B2GP1) IgG or IgM antibodies. Indication for this test are inappropriate blood clotting, frequent miscarriages, stroke and heart attack. Various other complications can also arise such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney failure and lung damage.
