Sodium Spot Urine
Test Details: Sodium spot urine test measures the amount of sodium excreted in a urine sample. Clinician may order this test if there is an abnormal sodium level in blood test which can be suggestive of acute kidney failure. Low sodium level is seen in cases of dehydration, diarrhoea, kidney disorder, adrenal gland disorder. High sodium levels in urine are seen during use of water pills, too much salt in diet, adrenal gland disorder, inflammation of kidney and thyroid disorder.
