Test Details: Protein Spot urine measures the amount of protein in urine. Large amounts of protein in urine is indicative of kidney disease. Symptoms include swelling in hand and feet, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue. High urine protein levels are seen in urinary tract infection, lupus, high blood pressure, preeclampsia, diabetes and cancer. Temporary physiological rise in urine protein may be seen in strenuous exercise, protein rich diet, stress, pregnancy, etc.
