Test Details: Dengue fever, a viral infection by nature, is transmitted to individuals through mosquito bites. NS1 antigen is a non-structural protein found in infected patients from first day of fever up to five days after the onset of fever. IgM and neutralising antibodies specific to the dengue virus emerge at the end of the first week of sickness. Thus, this particular test helps to detect the NS1 antigen and IgM antibodies in the sample and allows for rapid diagnosis of dengue infection.
