Test Details: This test is used for detection of infectious pathogens in the biliary system (liver, gall bladder, pancreas and bile ducts). Sample collection is complex as it is done by either gallbladder surgery or cholangiopancreatography. Acute cholecystitis and emphysematous cholecystitis may increase the incidence of complication. Bacteria in bile may increase the risk of adverse intra- and post- operative outcomes.
