Culture Pus Swab/Aspirate
Test Details: The test is done on a sample of pus to identify the presence of the pathogenic organism in the pus. A culture of a sample is done to find bacteria or fungus present in it. It is also performed to confirm wound infection and also during the treatment and after the treatment of wound Infection. Swabs are used for open wounds and aspirate method is used for closed wounds containing pus. A sensitivity test is also performed after detection of pathogen to check for antibiotic sensitivity against the causative agent.
