Test Details: HIV-1 is the most common type of Human Immunodeficiency Virus. It attacks body’s immune system. HIV-1 can severely damage immune system and lead to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). This test is intended for use in conjunction with clinical presentation and other laboratory markers of disease progression for the clinical management of HIV-1 infected patients. This test is used as an aid in the detection of acute HIV-1 and HIV-2 infection in plasma specimens.
