Test Details: Tuberculosis or TB, caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is one of the diseases with a high fatality rate. TB Sensitivity 1st line SIREP test is done on a sample of infected tissue to measure level of sensitivity to first lines drugs Streptomycin, Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Ethambutol and Pyrazinamide used for treatment of TB. It is performed to detect Drug Resistant Tuberculosis cases. The main advantages of the test are: for diagnosis, reliability compared to routine methods and speed of detection.
