Number of Tests | 4 |
Test Included | CMV IgM, Rubella IgM, Toxoplasmosis IgM, HSV I, II IgM |
Test Details: TORCH panel is used to detect infections in pregnant women which may be passed on to a fetus during pregnancy. Early detection and treatment of an infection can prevent complications in new-borns. This test includes Toxoplasmosis (T), Rubella (German measles) (R), Cytomegalovirus (C) and Herpes simplex virus (H). IgM antibodies are present when there’s a current or recent infection. If a new-born tests positive for these antibodies, a current infection is the most likely the cause.
