Test Details: Decarboxy prothrombin PIVKA II is done to evaluate effectiveness of treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma. If the DCP PIVKA II level is elevated prior to treatment; used to monitor recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma. Also used to differentiate between hepatocellular carcinoma from liver cirrhosis.
