EBV IgG antibody to Early antigen(EA)
Test Details: This test helps to diagnose infectious mononucleosis and to distinguish between an EBV infection and other illness with similar symptoms; to help evaluate susceptibility to EBV. The presence of antibody to early antigen of EBV indicates that EBV is actively replicating. Anti-EA IgG appears in the acute phase of illness and generally falls to undetectable levels after three to six months.
