Test Details: Lyme disease is an illness caused by infection with a bacteria that spreads through the bite of certain kind of ticks. Symptoms may include rash, fever, headache, pain etc. Antibody test measures IgG and IgM antibodies that are specific to bacteria. IgM antibodies usually peaks in few weeks after an infection and starts to collapse 4-6 months after infection. IgG antibodies are slower to develop, beginning to show 4-6 weeks after exposure and may peak 4-6 months after exposure.
