P0017
Parainfluenza 1, 2 and 3 IgM antibody
Test Details: Parainfluenza viruses type 1 and 3 cause influenza in young children accompanied by fever, cough, rhinitis, bronchitis and pseudo-laryngitis. Pneumonia can also occur. Bacterial infections are common as are usually harmless infections. Parainfluenza type 2 infections lead to similar clinical symptoms as with types 1 and 3, but the course of infection is milder. IgM antibodies develop soon after exposure and fade away after a couple of months.
