Dengue Rapid IgM
Test Details: Dengue viruses are spread to people through the bite of an infected Aedes species (Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus) mosquito. Incubation period varies from 3-7 days. Common symptoms patient suffers from are high grade fever with chills, musculoskeletal pain, headache, retro-orbital pain, transient muscle rash often in children. Dengue virus-specific IgM and neutralizing antibodies typically develop toward the end of the first week of illness. IgM levels are variable, but generally are positive starting 4-5 days after onset of symptoms and continuing for approximately 12 weeks post symptom onset, but may persist longer.
