Test Details: Luteinizing hormone is also known as Interstitial Cell Stimulating Hormone. This test helps to evaluate fertility issues. It helps in evaluating the health of reproductive organs (testicles or ovaries). In women, this test helps to determine ovulation time. This test also helps to evaluate the function of the pituitary gland. The Luteinizing Hormone (LH) test is done: • In case a woman is unable to get pregnant • In case of irregular or heavy menstrual periods in a woman • To track ovulation during the menstrual cycle • In case of males who have low sperm count, low muscle mass or decreased sex drive • In case of symptoms of pituitary or hypothalamic disorder • In case of early or delayed puberty in children.
