Prolactin
Test Details: Prolactin is a hormone made by the pituitary gland, a small gland situated at the base of the brain. Prolactin stimulates breast development and milk production in women. The levels are normally high for pregnant women. Blood prolactin levels may increase due a certain tumour in pituitary gland known as prolactinoma. Blood levels may also increase due to intake of certain medications.
