HLA DNA High Resolution Typing - DRB1 locus
Test Details: HLA typing is of clinical significance in determining tissue compatibility or HLA matching between donor and recipient transplant patients and also in the assessment of disease associations. Matching the HLA loci is essential for successful transplantation. The IMGT/HLA database is used as reference for HLA A B C DR DQ typing. HLA A B C DR DQ typing shows 100% specificity and 100% sensitivity. In Next-gen sequencing (NGS), exons 2-4 are covered including the intronic regions in between for DRB1. Accurate HLA matching between donor and patient significantly improves overall transplant survival, reduces the incidence and severity of both acute and chronic graft versus host disease (GVHD) thereby, improving the rate of engraftment. This has of outmost importance in haematopoietic marrow transplants.
