Test Details: The HLA-B*1502 allele is highly associated with the outcome of carbamazepine-induced Stevens–Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. HLA-B*1502 and HLA-A*3101 are two alleles that have been associated with severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions (cADRs), including Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), when taking certain mood stabilizers.
