Test Details: CCAAT/enhancer binding protein α (CEBPa) is a transcription factor involved in the regulation of myelopoiesis. AML patients with a mutation in the CEBPA gene (without a corresponding FLT3 gene mutation) have a relatively favorable prognosis. This test is used for initial evaluation of acute myeloid leukemia, both for assigning an appropriate diagnostic sub classification and as an aid for determining prognosis.
